The American Vehicle Owners Alliance (AVOA) submitted a statement for the record for the House Energy & Commerce Committee Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade hearing, “Oversight of NHTSA: Roadway Safety and Agency Priorities.” AVOA highlighted the implications that vehicle data has for safety, maintenance, and consumer choice and how vehicle owner access and control of this data can advance motor vehicle safety.
